The Petition
Given our love of the game, its traditions and history, we are puzzled as to why the greatness that is Major League Baseball, allows Keith Olbermann to tarnish its blog pages with his musings. True, Keith Olbermann is a gifted speaker with a respectable grasp of the great game, but his nightly tirades on MSNBC are often aimed at the very people that fill the stands of baseball parks across our great land. In light of this we have put this site together to ask a very basic question, “Why does Major League Baseball allow an individual who relishes hate speech to be associated with it?”
Please consider taking a moment to sign our petition that we will take to the Commissioner of Baseball to let our concerns be known. We are not suggesting a boycott of anything Baseball related. We just want to submit our concerns and receive a thoughtful response from those who are entrusted to protect this game that is at the very heart of being an American. Some people thought our site was offensive and attacked it. We’ve restored the site and put up this new petition form while we work to recover the signatures from the old petition.
**Update: The database with signatures from the old petition was recovered and is stored safely in multiple locations.
**Update 2: We have had reports that some cannot see the part of the petition where you sign. The only reports thus far are from people trying to sign the petition from their place of work. The petition database that holds the form and the signatures is now hosted on another system for security. It appears that some workplaces have a firewall that prevents access to that system. If you are unable to sign from work, please try again from home.
